My husband and I are not Jewish, but we are learning that Torah-observance is an absolute necessity for us. Our parents aren't happy about it, and are angry that we are teaching our 4 children to do the same. Torah-observance permeates every aspect of life at our house, so it's impossible not to offend them when they visit. We won't go back to Protestant practices. It is nauseating to us now. How can we follow the Torah command to Honor our Father and Mother when every aspect of our lives offends them?

Here's the script: " We love and respect you and we want you in ours and our children's lives. However, we have made some choices that are ours to make and we are asking that you respect those choices. Torah observance is part of who we are as a family. In order for us to be a close extended family, you must accept that. If you cannot, then we will need to limit our children's exposure to your negativity. We do not want to do that.
